"Poilievre also states that a new Conservative government will make Canada self-reliant, giving the country the ability to “stand up to the Americans,”"
This guy lives in the past, as if it is still 1950. Look around you, Pierre. Look at how many heritage Canadians are left in the major cities.
I'd worry more about being colonized by India and China than about a few tariffs. You can change tariff schedules in an instant. Demographic replacement is a lot more difficult to fix.
We are already colonized. Canada is a constitutional monarchy. All authority comes from the crown. We are subjects and savages. Trump will actually save us from colonization and we will become actual citizens. We are fucked otherwise.
The Crown in Canada is strictly ceremonial. Name one instance where the British crown has overruled a bill in the commons or shown favouritism to one or another party. The crown, not their politicians, who mostly talk out of their asses.
If you want to know who rules over you, ask who you cannot criticize. As it stands, Canada and the USA have the same ruler and it's not the British crown. All our parties both in Canada and the USA bend the knee to 'those who cannot be named' (even when they commit mass murder) which is why I won't support any of them.
Will be? I live in a de-factor branch of south Asia, largely Indians who live in a country dozens of times larger than us. Those who don't realize India will leverage their superior position are naive.
This is typical of people who don't seem to understand statistics in a visceral way.
Wonder if its like the Epstein saga. They put his name in there so they could blackmail him. Epstein brought people to his island and blackmailed them. I think they will do ANYTHING to get their Totalitarian society
Well that wasn’t a very nice thing to say…takes all kinds I guess…you don’t have to agree with what I think, but you don’t have to be so rude about it either…
The historic and longstanding relationship between Canada and the United States, between Canadians and Americans, will not be determined by a man who hasn’t even lived in Canada for over a decade, is completely out of touch with Canadians, and has never been elected by the Canadian people.
Mark Carney can get bent and the Liberal Party of Canada must be voted out of existence.
Gail, Rose has a point. Given the importance of the subject, you really should do some research before voicing an opinion. Voters are confused enough without adding to the confusion. Poilievre has come out strongly against the WEF, but Carney Boy is Klaus Schwab's man.
Boychuk also dives into the deep rotten family ties Daniele Smith has as well as Poilievre - this interview was the most interesting I've heard in some time and somewhat of an eye opener! https://youtu.be/K_Zp6UiEeVQ?si=4qdQZp60abRA8dFO
This is another TOOL—he is no better than Ford, and I am a Conservative!! To threaten the President of the United States when all we have here for our military is what—two helicopters? Seriously? Alberta is on the cusp of separation if this bullshit continues, They act like kids in a sandbox!! Poilievre and Ford need to look Trump IN THE FACE and tell him, not hide behind cameras and microphones!! Get some balls, like Smith has!!
Alberta has been on the cusp of separation for as long as I can remember, and that's a long time! As for Ms Smith, all she has done is rush off to kiss the Pope's ring (I'm being polite here). It's time she showed some national unity instead of taking the first opportunity to grandstand for independence.
Klaus Schwab said over 1/2 of Trudope's cabinet were WEF. As well Polievre, Singh, Freeland, Rebel and others were WEF Global Young Leaders.
Ontario and Quebec control EVERYTHING in this nation. Unless someone starts talking about Equalization Reform Senate Reform and becoming Constitutional Republic where everything is equal.....the West needs to exit the abusive relationship
GRANDSTANDING? She is the ONLY one who has the balls to try to get these tariffs stopped. At least she isnt threatening the President like Poilievre and Ford are!! I think you must be meaning QUEBEC when you yap about a province threatening separation.
What "enormous fentanyl flow"? Even the U.S. customs agency says the fentanyl coming across Canada's border is less than one tenth of one percent of the total fentanyl entering the U.S. There's probably far more drugs coming into Canada from the U.S. than is going the other way. Not to mention all the firearms!
What am I missing ??? By DJT imposing tariffs it doesn't effect prices / inflation here in Chinada. It may effect the company's sending goods and services to the U.S. BUT IT IS TEAM CHINADA'S counter tariffs that will raise the Cost of Living here.
Pierre Instead of actually addressing the real issues of massive amounts of corruption in the government, the Communist Chinese influence in money laundering and Real Estate, the human trafficking, the massive drug production and trafficking operations...he thinks we are stupid and the Orange Man Bad distraction will save him.
It only exposed him for being a traitor to this country just like the rest of Team Chinada
From the way Trump talks, it sounds like he thinks tariffs are paid by the exporting nation! That wouldn't surprise me since he doesn't even know what a Rare Earth is, calling them Raw Earths instead. Multiple times too, so not a slip of the tongue. Basically the guy's an idiot who refuses to learn anything. Typical narcissistic know-it-all.
Ignorance can be cured by education, but there's no cure for stupidity. The really big question that ought to trouble everyone is not Trump per se, but how an idiot like him managed to get elected president. Worse still, Trump is setting a precedent to rule by degree (executive order is just a fancy way of saying that) so will the next administration try to reel in those powers or just abuse them as well, now that a precedent has been set?
I don't like the man - but the things he is doing are the best we've seen in well 63 years quite frankly - he is aligning with the 'patriot' and 'sovereign' focused presidents of the past - all of which were pretty much murdered during their terms...
"he is aligning with the 'patriot' and 'sovereign' focused presidents of the past"
He's saying what people want to hear, which is typical of politicians of all stripes. You're supposed to watch what they do, not what they say. He seems to have scored some points by going after the woke tranny nonsense. It scores easy points, but how much does that actually affect the big picture? Meanwhile, he's deporting people simply for being against his pal Bibi's ongoing genocide.
One thing we know for certain is the twists and turns of the msm and how they reveal to the people what perceptions we are to learn - this is the art and science of Fabian Society mind f’ing.
Maybe those of us who truly want an undisturbed balance and at most a reciprocal balance with nature wants to rid the world of all the consumer driven industrialization and get back to some basic healthy needs living.
Trump is definitely prove development, pro-American Systems of economics that was followed by the very trail of assassins or rather I should say assassinations. Believe me the Schiller Institute and their Coalition for World Peace is full on behind what Trump is doing - they’ve also been Pro-BRICS and they definitely see a multi-polar world of sovereign nations.
We also were forewarned that things would get ugly whilst Trump cleaned out people who have been feeding the elitism, oligarchism, British Imperial Colonialist system which caused the trail of assassins.
So, ebear we’ve had many discussions in the and so I get the sense of a good will behind your intentions, and since neither of us are actually sitting in the white-house as a drone fly. So, why not focus on the things that we can see are moving parts towards a better future, starting at our own home, community, region, etc…
In the meantime, flip through some perspectives from the Schiller Institute (you know LaRouche was an advisor to these great patriot presidents on the assassination list, he was also their economic adviser.)
"So, why not focus on the things that we can see are moving parts towards a better future, starting at our own home, community, region, etc…"
Now you're talking! I tend to look at things from an engineer's, not a politician's perspective. I'm in the 'what can we do with what's at hand' dept. rather than building something nobody wants or needs at enormous expense just because it looks good (and gets you votes).
I used to watch LaRouche's 1/2 hr. political ads on TV back when he was running for president in the late 70's early 80's, so yes, I'm familiar with the guy. We used to run into his people at airports, and once in a while they'd actually appear at your door with pamphlets. One guy we had a good conversation with was actually kind enough to return with a copy of LaRouche's 1977 book 'The Case of Walter Lippmann: A Presidential Strategy' so he gained a couple of followers that day.
But then look what happened to him. That's what we're up against, which suggests we need a craftier approach. I don't know what that would be, but meeting the enemy head on seems a like losing proposition to me. That's what puts me off about MAGA and pretty much all the other conservative movements. They're full of hotheads, understandably so given how they've been f'd over, but as a strategy it just plays into their hands and you end up like the J6'ers.
I'm sure he doesn't totally mean what he says , but knows that it would be political suicide if he said otherwise . There are some fence sitters out there just waiting for a slip-up.
I am rather disappointed at Poilievre’s disrespectful tone in addressing Trump. Negotiating with the US as a mature adult, as Danielle Smith has, would garner him more respect. Instead he has shown himself to be very similar to the other miscreants on Parliament Hill.
It is never a good idea to turn one’s friends into enemies, especially if they are stronger.
As much as I dislike Trudeau, calling him the 'governor of Canada' was extremely disrespectful. Respect is earned, not granted and Trump hasn't earned ANY.
What is there to respect about our recently departed kakistocrat! You have fallen for Trump’s intention, which is to awaken Canadian’s nationalism. I have more to fear from the evil Trudeau/Carney duo.
100% Agree ... Danielle works the room in US meetings and knows the oil industry enough to garner deals. Meanwhile Mr. Bring-it-home doesn't want to renegotiate the existing tariffs that Mr. Trump is talking about. A good deal is when both parties walk away with something lost , something gained..
I'd like to know exactly what current tarriffs (for example, milk) we have on the USA that has them so upset about fairness. This aspect has been removed from any dialogue I've heard on this topic.
We have trade agreements with the USA (and Mexico) that date back decades. Under those treaties, the standard approach to resolving trade disputes is arbitration by a third party. Typically you don't hear about these disputes because they are particular to certain companies or industries - that is to say, the complaints come from the private sector, not from the government itself, which typically has to act in a more balanced manner, otherwise you invite the kind of BS you're seeing now. This applies to other countries with which we trade. It's always better to concede some advantage to your trading partner as you can call on it later when you really need it. Art of the deal and all. Something Trump knows nothing about.
Deep State organizations are leading these - you must've spent time researching these groups you know of them right?
"Think tanks have origins that trace back to the 19th century, with some of the earliest institutions emerging in Great Britain and the United States. The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, founded in 1824, is one of the earliest examples, established to honor Benjamin Franklin and advance the usefulness of his inventions.
In the United Kingdom, the Royal United Services Institute, founded in 1831, was created to provide training for British military servants and officers.
The Fabian Society, established in 1884, claims to be Britain's oldest political think tank."
What about Tavistock, Chatham House, Club of Rome, Round Table, any religion to be honest especially in the old days when the pope and archbishops ruled in the Draconian Era, to name a few more...
I'm not sure what your point is here. That secret societies exist that work behind the scenes to advance their particular agendas? Sure, I don't doubt that's true. I think their power is overstated, which works to their advantage, but I also think there are rival factions, not one single entity controlling everything, which some assume. That said, the question is, what can we do about it? People naturally form associations out of self-interest, so knock one down and another will appear in its place. That's the lesson I take from history. Any idea how we get around that problem? I'm all out of ideas.
I'd like to see a reference for this number please. Trump claimed over 60M Russians died in WWII when the actual number was 27M. The guy has trouble with numbers apparently, so any he cites must be looked at with skepticism.
The figure isn't Trump's, it's the estimate by merely adding up the dollar value of each deal. All reported.
Yeh, like Trudeau and Carney are bastions of statistical trustworthiness.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia business deals alone are worth $2 trillion. This is in addition to a $44 billion LNG deal with Japan. At the corporate level, Hyundai J&J TMSC, Softban/Oracle, Nvidia and Apple all committed hundreds of billions.
so no reference then? You know, like a link from an authoritative source? Nothing personal, but people throw numbers around constantly without citing their source, and when it's in the trillions especially, I'd like to see a source.
Which raises a further point. As I was taught in science school, the person making the claim has the obligation to substantiate it, and since you've sent me off to Google (which I don't use - there are better search engines) I have to assume you can't.
One point. If the total of all these deals you mention does add up to whatever trillions, those are still just projections. It's not like the money has actually arrived in a US bank account somewhere. As for whatever deals have been cut, deals can be broken all the time now apparently. Trump is living proof of that.
Then at Science School Boogaloo they taught you never to assume. Not my problem you don't use Google. So use Brave or whatever tickles your fancy. The world is your oyster.
I made no claim. I merely relayed what's been reported.
You're turning this into something bigger than it needs to be with 'what if' scenarios' as if these aren't signed deals but 'projections'. Sure, the $1.4 UAE deal can fall through for any number of reasons. UAE can disappear. Trump can fart in their face. But the deal is signed.
That Trump breaks deals - and maybe you need to cite that because I haven't seen him follow through with any of his threats. None of the tariffs against Canada are official yet that I'm aware of. If they are my bad - is irrelevant to the fact there are majors signed contracts in place.
As for the nature of the deals, it depends. It doesn't have to be a 'transfer into bank accounts.' I don't know the nature of the contracts. They can use bonds, securities, flow through subsidiaries, pooled through investment funds etc.
Bottom line: They deals have been signed. What happens next is up to the good Lord to decide.
You should not be posting misinformation. Do you homework first. How would you like it if someone said untruth about you when you know its the opposite You worry about this guy when Carney has been on the WEF board , with chystia, who just moved his business with oil pipelines to NY like Trump wanted, lives in NyC not Canada. Had more to do with Europe oligarcy than canadians. And a ton more.
A prediction. As much as tariffs harm us they will also harm many US citizens. Less than two years from now the bloom will be off the Trump rose and Democrats will take both houses in the by-elections. So if you think he's entertaining right now, just wait until he's a lame duck.
It's a bit long to hold one's breath for, but short enough to not get too bent over it. To quote a famous Chinese philosopher: this too shall pass. Inevitably, everything does.
Auto Pact is one thing, but what happens to Canada's avionics, nuclear or medical tech industries when we can't get the 'raw' earth minerals we need?
David Ricardo advocated what he called 'comparative advantage' which basically says do what you do best, then trade for that which you don't, or can't do. The other approach is to do everything internally, but that only works for large nations with abundant resources. Everyone else has to trade in the market, or forgo the kind of things we take for granted, like running water, electricity or a cell phone network.
The problem I have with globalism is not that it's a bad idea. The crime was to do it in such a way as to give global trade a bad name. Instead of fair trade we get war with these clowns, but that's the clown's fault, not the theory or the principles behind it. You want to stop mass immigration, for example? Stop bombing people for a start, then help them get to a point where life is good such that they don't want to leave. You do that by buying their stuff, and if you have to help them build a factory or a mine to get there, you do that. Not to mercilessly extract profits, but reasonably to secure future trade relations (which ultimately have the bigger payoff).
Yes exactly, this is what is what the Treaty of Westphalia was about right!?! Put down all past differences and move towards creating peace and even a step further, for when you act as a ‘Good Neighbor” then uplift each other, then the life of creative possibilities begins.

Maybe you should watch Stephen Harper's speeches at the WEF.....it was him who signed us on to the Paris Accord and other Globalist agendas.
Apparently WEF overstepped. They do that to people they want to blakmail
He was and is stil a traitor. Behind a lot of this shite

Canada is in danger of becoming isolated if they keep acting out like this.
"Trump brought $3 trillion into America in 2025."
This is in just three months.
so no reference then? You know, like a link from an authoritative source? Nothing personal, but people throw numbers around constantly without citing their source, and when it's in the trillions especially, I'd like to see a source.
Um. I said 'all reported'. You have fingers? Google it.
I'd LOVE it if CANADA were to become isolated AKA Sovereign!!!
They have to isolate themselves from the CROWN owning everything first.
That's exactly my point! :)
What an idiot.
Exactly. Carney Boy is Trudeau with brains, and that's a very dangerous prospect.
Fancy socks were just not up to the task any more.
Tariffs create sovereign strength - and get's us off our high horse in trade commitments.
I bought Canadian Hot House tomato's in Mill Valley, CA at a Whole Foods store for CHEAPER than I can buy them in BC...
THIS is why tariffs and ending 'free trade British Bullshit" is creating an economic collapse.
