Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces starting August 1st, Ontario grocery stores can sell ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, like coolers and seltzers and offer larger size beer packs. Ford further announced that on September 5th, select convenience stores can sell beer, cider, wine, and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages. And by October 31st all convenience stores, grocery stores, and big box stores will be able to sell beer, cider, wine, and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.

Oh my, that was a while ago, as in many decades ago. I remember going to the liquor store with my dad, it was like an old time bank. All the bottles were rolled in crisp brown paper . Quite civilized actually.
I keep hoping that Premier Ford will tell his rude Attorney General Doug Downey to at least start negotiations on the remaining 700,000 euros compensation for false arrest, torture, fraudulent trials and wrongful imprisonment 8.5 years that an astute Prosecutor in Finland declared I, Eric R Biddle, is still owed
But I advocate against alcohol and corruption in Operation Ransac - Conspiracy and elsewhere.
I hope someone is keeping stats. Do sales go up overall or stay the same divided up between stores? What is their plan for the LCBO? What is the rate of alcoholism in Ontario? Will they need to increase the funding for rehab ? What about the kids? All those stores will need 19 year old staff to sell it, and be bigger targets for theft. How many small stores will want to but forced to stay competitive?
Strangely , Ford gains in this as he is perceived as reasonable, liberal , forward thinking by all who think they are reasonable , liberal and forward thinking.
