A lot of rich people from the city have places out on Long Island although the uber rich head all the way east to Montauk (Truman Capote had a place there). They take ferries over to Fire Island to the beaches, which are gorgeous. But my point is, the rich are making these decisions, not the poor who live among them, at least part of the time.
