For a second, I thought I read the last 3 words as ‘publicly funded toilet’!!!! Then I reread it and it said publicly funded outlet!!! Hmmm, maybe my subconscious was trying to tell me something?!?! 😉
The CBC is a tool of propaganda for the current government, shows like Power & Politics demonstrate this issue daily. You want to regain trust, it will take time, you must stop acting like a mouthpiece for the Trudeau government. Where are the investigative journalists asking the hard questions, we demande transparency and accountability otherwise you are heading for extinction.
I was already pissed when they cancelled NL, but then BNW was cancelled and that was the last time I ever tuned in to CBC. Dave Wisdom was Canada's John Peel, and that's no exaggeration. Dave Wisdom, Brent Bambury and Kevin Komoda did more to put Canadian artists on the map than anyone before or after them.
The CBC shot themselves in both feet when they cancelled those shows. They were coast to coast, which meant that besides Canada they had a large northern US audience as well, so apart from just the excellent music, those two programs were major goodwill ambassadors. A lot of the call-ins on Dave's show came from the US, as there simply wasn't anything like it in the USA, at least not on a national scale.
All freethinking people had the wits to evolve way beyond self-indoctrination by our highly paid liars. Money buys power to lie; power buys corruption. Corruption will never fix itself, such is the web of lies of which they are aware. That's what makes it evil vs stupidity and incompetence. Bonhoeffer was so correct!
Media was always a go to place to find out what was happening , they were the public watchdog . Now , they are just telling stories written for them by those who pay them . They certainly do not report on real news were get from Canadian and others like them . Investigative journalism would be obsolete if not for them .
