Just over a year ago, on January 31, 2023, British Columbia decriminalized the use of hard drugs in public areas as part of a three-year pilot project.

The safe supply program is an abject failure but the current BC gov't will never admit to it. If it wasn't for the upcoming election, they wouldn't even be taking this action. What is recriminalizing "public" drug use going to accomplish? If the purpose of decriminalizing was to remove the stigma of drug use and prevent OD deaths, will this not just drive it back to the shadows again? It makes zero sense, then again, what does these days.

Imagine a fkg pilot project, basically an experiment on the public, that they didn't sign up for. It was ridiculous to decriminalize hard drugs to begin with. I wonder if it was worth it. Did they get all the data they wanted of increased overdoses, prostitution, theft and other degenerate crimes they had hoped for?
