Ottawa School Board Trustee Nili Kaplan-Myrth, who is a medical doctor and also serves as a school board Trustee, has been very vocal about masking children at school, and she continues to be an advocate to this day.
There is plenty of scientific data and evidence showing that not only do masks not work as particulates are too small and pass through but that masking has more risks and harms to health than benefits. For example they can cause bacterial pneumonia, toxic moulds to build up in masks, can cause jaw and mouth and teeth problems from mouth breathing, Carbon monoxide poisoning, and the volitile compounds that break down within the mask can create other health issues. Also it causes young children to become cognitively delayed in speech and emotional development from the lack of learning facial expressions, vocabulary and mouth motor skills for pronouncing words from sight mimicry. Anyone fighting to put children back in masks is not doing it from a health safety standpoint So what is the real reason behind this push?
