U.S. hospital agrees to perform life-saving organ transplant for COVID-19 unvaccinated Canadian woman being denied surgery in her own country, but at a cost.
Sheila Annette Lewis, a Canadian woman suffering from a terminal illness, requires a life-saving organ transplant surgery. However, due to her refusal to get the Covid-19 vaccine, she has been denied the surgery in Canada.
Lewis has challenged the vaccine policies of AHS (Alberta Hospital Services) and her transplant doctors, claiming that they violate her rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The Alberta Court of Queen's Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal ruled against her, stating that the Charter does not cover the specific Covid-19 vaccine policies. Her claims under The Alberta Bill of Rights were also dismissed.
Recently, the Supreme Court of Canada declined to hear her case, exhausting all her legal options in Canada.
According to a GiveSendGo fundraiser, a U.S. hospital has agreed to perform the transplant surgery, but it comes with a significant cost.
The fundraiser says Ms. Lewis needs $100,000 for testing before being placed on the donor list, and the surgery itself is estimated to cost an additional $500,000 USD.
As of now, the fundraiser for Ms. Sheila Annette Lewis has managed to raise a little over $18,000, which is still short of the $100,000 goal required for the testing before she can be placed on the donor list.

Where is the Alberta Premiere?!?!? What is wrong with these nut jobs?!?! We don’t even need to wear mask at hospitals in neighbouring Saskatchewan and they are still worried about vaccine status?!?! Seriously????
Totally disheartening, what has become of our country.
