Trudeau's second carbon tax, through the "Clean Fuel Regulations," will take effect on July 1, 2023, and cost Canadian families more, says PBO

Prepare yourself for another carbon tax as Trudeau's government introduces a new one under the "Clean Fuel Regulations" on July 1, 2023, adding to the existing carbon tax increases you've been paying under their "2030 Emissions Reduction Plan."

The recent report by the Parliamentary Budget Officer found that Trudeau's Clean Fuel Regulations will have a greater financial impact on individuals with lower incomes.

Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux says, "Since lower-income households generally spend a larger share of their income on transportation and other energy-intensive goods and services compared to higher-income households, on average, the Clean Fuel Regulations will have a greater impact on these households."
