Former Ontario High School Teacher and Mainstream Media Contributor Found Guilty of Sexual Misconduct with Female Students.
Ryan Imgrund, a former teacher at a high school in Newmarket, Ontario, and a self-described 'biostatistician' who appeared on various Canadian mainstream media outlets during the pandemic, has been found guilty of sexual misconduct with female students by a disciplinary committee.
The Ontario Teachers College, in its decision on Monday, June 12, 2023, found Mr. Imgrund guilty of sexual misconduct.
The first allegations in August 2022, alleged instances of emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse perpetrated by Imgrund against five female students.
Imgrund had resigned from his teaching position in June 2022, two months prior to the public disclosure of the allegations by the Ontario Teachers College (OTC).
In December 2022, Imgrund faced further allegations of disgraceful, dishonorable, or unprofessional conduct. These new allegations involved the sending of explicit photographs of himself holding his genitals.
Alongside his role as an educator, he had actively engaged as a contributor on various Canadian mainstream media platforms, including CBC, CTV, and Global, where he provided “statistical” insights on COVID-19 and advocated for measures such as school mask mandates and closures.
As a result of the disciplinary committee's findings, Ryan Imgrund's teaching license has been revoked.
At present, it remains unclear whether the police are conducting an investigation into the allegations against Ryan Imgrund.
